Yeah and then you have to change your car, or change your clothes just to get away from them. You can't do anything naughty without having to stop and pay a fine or try to run away. They are quite easy to escape from because once tiny crash and they go into a coma. Yeah they ruined a lot of the fun, I think. You know, they're a staple in open world games but here they just didn't do it for me. One thing I need to rant about though Hex. Using the horn will make everything get out of your way. Driving the cars, they all handle really well and the drift is good. I quite enjoyed being in this world though. Yeah and then they just burnt it down anyway. I was happy when I finally got to move into a ground level apartment.

It's kind of like pick up the phone, go to this place. You look at something like Red Dead Redemption or Just Cause 2 - some of the best open world games we've had this year - they really cut the fat with teleporting and cab rides and here I just felt like I was driving so much, just to get from mission to mission, just to go to bed or answer a phone call. I will get to the good stuff but I'm going to rant a bit here because there's a lot of flab in this game. But all the missions are structured just like any other open world game so it's just natural to make those comparisons I think. I think 2K were very keen for people not to compare this to games like GTA or Red Dead Redemption because this is an action adventure single player set in an open world. I didn't mind that Bajo, there's enough length in the game for it and sometimes I find side missions distracting in open world games. Soon you're thrown into your usual mob jobs, heists, delivering packages, running cheap cigarettes until you climb the ladder and start getting into more risky business such as drugs and hits.Īs you can see this is a game set in an open world, but it's a linear story - there's no side missions as such, you just follow the main plot. Vito falls in with crims, who make him an offer he can't refuse so he doesn't have to go back to the front line. The game begins in the 40s and follows the story of Vito who's on furlough from the war. The suits! The story! The city! It's the perfect setting for some low speed chases.
